If I can dream it, I can do it.

Jana Wilkes

If I can dream it, I can do it.

“The best version of myself steps into the shoes of and becomes the best version of someone else on screen, creating authentic, believable characters, and using my own personal journey and experiences to fuel my performance.”

Jana brings herself to every role, and this has won her awards both on stage and on screen.  In addition to several short film and stage performances, Jana has appeared in ABC iView's The Wrong Kind of Black, Eleven’s Neighbours, ABC’s The Doctor Blake Mysteries, Seven’s Winners and Losers, and in 2016 made her feature film debut in the award-winning and internationally distributed The Legend of Ben Hall.

Juggling a role in advertising with training, filming, rehearsals, performances, Jana has perfected the art of time management, and thrives under pressure. She can learn a script, personalise it and deliver it in minutes, without pre-shaping ideas and remaining flexible receive direction expertly, interpreting and delivering exactly what’s needed.

Jana is committed to self-development: both as a person and as an actor. She believes it’s one and the same and enjoys the ongoing journey of discovery that delivers.

Originally hailing from the Townsville, North Queensland, Jana followed her dreams to Melbourne where she entrenched herself in the Australian film and TV industry. In 2018, Jana won the US Diversity Visa, aka the Green Card lottery, so now splits her time between Los Angeles and Australia.
